They are delicious. These salmon burgers are delicious.
You’re looking at a golden-colored, crispy exterior with a flaky interior and lots of nutrition.
These are easy to prepare and (usually) require minimal or no grocery shopping if you have a well-stocked pantry. These crispy little pan-fried guys are my favorite.
As if salmon burgers needed to be better to eat by themselves (which they are), you need to make this slaw for your salmon burgers. The slaw is simple – shredded cabbage with yogurt, herbs, and garlic in vinegar. But paired alongside salmon burgers, it’s a winner. This crispy-salty, tangy combination is a winner.
Ingredients for These Salmon Burgers
This recipe is the pantry staple’s dream! What you will need is the following:
- Salmon (in cans or already cooked)
- Eggs
- Breadcrumbs
- Spices
- Lemon Juice
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Herbs
These salmon burgers are great with some fresh dill as the herb for a flavorful punch. You can also use freeze-dried Dill (which I keep in my spice cabinet all year round) and other fresh herbs! When I ran out of Dill, I used parsley and cilantro. They were still delicious. The recipe was still delicious.
What is the best kind of Salmon?
Now for the big one. Do you use canned Salmon? Subtext: Is it gross?
Answer: I do use canned Salmon in my salmon burgers. And NO, the Salmon is not gross if you buy the right kind.
If canned Salmon doesn’t appeal to you, you can also use fresh Salmon you have already cooked (see our guide on how to cook Salmon). You can find it if you are willing to do some searching and spend a bit more for higher-quality canned Salmon. I like Wild Planet cans of Salmon. Wild Planet’s products are sustainable and prioritize the conservation of marine ecosystems. It was caught in Alaska—Superfan, not sponsored. You can buy it on Amazon. You can keep it in the pantry, and it will be ready to go whenever you want a salmon burger fix.
