South India’s sheer is called Kesari, while North India is known for sheer as halwa. It is also known as sooji-halwa because it is made of rava and sooji. Easy to make, this strawberry and sooji-halwa can be prepared just like sooji halwa and mango.
This strawberry pudding recipe is preservative-free. This strawberry sheera recipe contains no artificial colors or flavorings. Some people add strawberry syrup from the grocery store, but I didn’t add it. You can adjust the sugar amount to suit your strawberry’s sweetness and taste.

LET US SEE THE INGREDIENTS WHICH GO INTO MAKING STRAWBERRY SHEERA OR STRAWBERRY KESARI:
- Rava – Rava, also known as semolina or sooji, is the main ingredient of this sheera recipe. Any rava can be used, including chiroti and normal sooji.
- Strawberry pulp: You can extract strawberry pulp from fresh, unblemished strawberries. Cut off the stem and chop it into pieces. Then add to a mixer to make a strawberry puree. Do not add water.
- Butter: This recipe uses butter or ghee. Ghee should not be replaced with oil.
- Sugar: sugar is added to sweeten the dish. You can adjust the quantity depending on how sweet the strawberries are.
- Dry fruits To make this halwa rich and nutritious, a few dry fruits, such as raisins and broken cashew nuts, are added.
- Crushed cardamom pods: A few can be peeled and ground and added to the sweet strawberry dish.
HOW TO MAKE STRAWBERRY DESERTS LIKE STRAWBERRY HALWA
- Cut strawberries into small pieces.
- Blend the chopped strawberries in a blender until smooth. Set it aside.
- Heat a kadai, and add ghee.
- Fry the cashew nuts, raisins, and nuts. Once raisins are browned, and cashew nuts have turned brownish, take them out and set them aside.
- Roast the rava in the same pan and let it sit for a while.
- Mix one teaspoon of ghee with 1 cup of sugar.
Pour 2 cups of water over the rava in a kadai. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Rava is fast at absorbing water, so mix in between.
- Mix strawberry pulp, fried nuts, raisins, and cardamom powder.
- Mix well.
- Add a little strawberry to a small bowl, then invert the mixture onto a plate.
- Garnish with strawberry slices and mint leaves.

- Stir the Rava in hot water until it is absorbed.
- You can adjust the sugar quantity to suit your strawberry’s sweetness.
Sooji Halwa With Strawberry

- 1 cup rava / semolina
- 1/4 cup strawberry pulp made by blending approximately 20 strawberries
- Two tablespoons clarified butter/ghee.
- 1/2 cup sugar, or as much as you like
- 2 cups of water
- Broken 5-8 cashew nuts
- Few raisins
- Four crushed cardamom pods
- To taste salt
Instructions
- Cut strawberries into small pieces.
- Blend the chopped strawberries in a blender until smooth. Set it aside.
