This sheet pan meal is THE best! Although it’s very similar to other sheet pan meals I have made, it’s the easiest and most flavorful. The Sheet Pan Kielbasa, Potatoes and Green Beans recipe is delicious, filling, and easy to make. It requires only SIX ingredients and takes very little time. You can’t ask for more from a dinner recipe.
CAN I USE A DIFFERENT SAUCE?
If you don’t have kielbasa, you can use any smoked sausage with this combination. It is so versatile!
CAN FRESH GREEN BEANS BE USED?
This recipe uses frozen green beans because they have been blanched, cleaned, and cut before freezing. While the green beans roast in the oven, the blanching helps to keep them moist. If you’d rather use fresh green beans, they will dry out more when roasted than frozen.
What is STEAK SEASONING?
This recipe uses steak seasoning as my shorthand. You can find it in a bottled spice mix, sometimes called Montreal Steak Seasoning. It is a mixture of salt, pepper and garlic. Because of its chunky grind, steak seasoning gives the dish texture and wonderful pops in flavour. Please don’t skip it! đŸ™‚
WHAT SAUSAGE WORKS BEST?
Use your favourite fully cooked sausage. Chicken, beef, turkey, or pork would all work. I prefer Applegate chicken sausages because the ingredient list is short, but the flavour is always great. I get mine at Whole Foods. (Not an ad. I’m just sharing my preference if you’re looking for a brand to try.) Two other brands you might enjoy are Bilinski’s and Aidells.
WHAT POTATOES ARE BEST?
You can use any potato variety you like. I use gold or yellow potatoes because they always taste a little buttery, and my family loves that.
CAN YOU USE A DIFFERENT VEGGIE?
Green beans can easily be swapped out for another veggie that cooks in the same amount of time. Brussels sprouts, broccoli, and carrot sticks would all work beautifully too!
CAN I USE DIFFERENT POTATOES?
Yes! This recipe is flexible! If you don’t have small red potatoes, you can substitute them with larger or russet potatoes. Make sure you cut the potatoes into 1-inch pieces to ensure even roasting.
